I’m Zach Jones, the proud owner of Raptor Turf Landscaping. I was born and raised in Tipton, IA, and I graduated from Tipton High School in 2017. I furthered my education at Wartburg College, where I earned a business degree with a minor in leadership.

My journey in the landscaping industry began during the summers when I worked for a local landscaping business. That experience ignited my passion for the industry and motivated me to pursue my dreams. Today, I’m dedicated to providing top-quality landscaping services, driven by the love I’ve developed for this craft and the values that shaped me.

I was always the quiet kid with little to say. Despite being an introvert, I found my fair share of success, but I always felt there was more out there for me. While working for another company, I began to open up about my dream of starting my own business. It was something I mentioned casually, uncertain if I could truly pursue it because I didn’t see myself fitting the traditional mold. But then, one day, everything changed:

As I was working for another landscaping company, we were off at the quarry picking up some rock and one of the employees who was much older than me got frustrated with one of the operators and decided to take it on me. There was two other employees in the truck and I was in the back seat being the quiet kid I was known to be. For some reason, I had to be the one who took the frustration. To keep this appropriate and paraphrase, he said that “it was ridiculous that I wanted to start my own business.” This was the moment that pushed me to become the person I am today and help shape Raptor Turf Landscaping. There is a saying out there, “believe you can and your half way there”

Fast forward, It’s 2020, I graduated college during COVID and started my business. I took a leap of faith, fought against my fears, and embarrassed myself many times😂 Through consistency and hard work. It has been hard, but has been the most rewarding thing I have done because I get to learn every day and improve.

Before I move on, I want to thank every single customer I have had through the years because it has helped me get to where I am today. It feels like yesterday when I did my first paver patio with a shovel, wheel barrow and a utility trailer. Luckily I do not have to do that much anymore‼

Lastly, I want to thank my family for supporting me through the good times and the rough times.
